Collaborative workshop: Emotional Wellbeing for Expatriates
A space to explore, understand, and integrate the emotions that arise when living in another country
Living outside your home country brings valuable growth… but also losses we often don’t know how to hold.
This workshop is designed to help you understand them and begin to navigate them with greater awareness.
Organized by: CED
Is this space right for you?
This workshop is designed for people who:
Live outside their home country and experience emotions that are difficult to identify or manage
Experience nostalgia, sadness, or a sense of disconnection without fully understanding why
Have gone through significant changes and haven’t had the space to process them
If you identify with one or more of the situations above, this workshop may help you.
BENEFITS OF THE COLLABORATIVE WORKSHOP “EMOTIONAL WELLBEING FOR EXPATRIATES”
What will you gain from this workshop?
Throughout the workshop, we will work through both a theoretical and experiential approach to:
- Understand the migration experience from a psychological perspective
- Identify the losses associated with expatriation
- Identify potential unresolved emotional processes
- Develop emotional self-regulation skills
- Support the integration of your lived experience
This is not just a space to understand, but to begin to reorganize what you carry within.
“Migration grief is not about losing, but transforming; learning to let go without losing who you are.”

FAQs: Collaborative Workshop for Expatriates
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this workshop only for recent expatriates?
No, the workshop is for anyone who feels they don’t quite fit into their environment—whether they have recently moved to another country or, even after some time, still feel disconnected.
Do I have to share personal experiences with the group?
It’s not mandatory. Participation is voluntary, and we respect each person’s pace. You can share what feels comfortable to you or simply listen and reflect.
Can I attend if I’ve been living in the country for a long time and am considering moving to another country or returning to my home country?
Of course. The feeling of not belonging is not always tied to a specific place. Belonging is something we work on at many levels—the first being within ourselves—and that is something you carry with you wherever you go.
Learning to cultivate a sense of belonging before planning a return can help you readapt to a new place. And learning to properly close one chapter with a place can support a more complete and fluid integration into another.
